Windows Movie Maker: when i cut a scene the visuals go black?
I have all of my videos imported on windows movie maker. When I drag them to the bottom, they play, and it is all good. But when I try to cut a little off of the video, the whole scene goes black.
Please help, not sure what is happening!
The whole scene shouldn't be going black. Are you pulling back the end of the video to trim it? That should work, but only if you want to shorten the end of the clip. If you drag it back to cut out a particular scene or so, it will show only a black screen after you've done that.
If the isn't working well for you, since your scene is going black, my suggestion is to use the 'Split' feature on the bottom right side of your preview pane to trim with.
When you have the video you want on the time-line, drag the green bar in the preview pane to the point you want to trim (cut out) the video. Click on the Split button.
You will notice that your video has been split (cut) in two.
You want to make sure that you only cut out the video you want to remove (and not the entire rest of your video) so you will have to split the clip again at the end of the portion you want to remove.
Once you have split a portion your want to get rid of click on it and delete/remove it from your project.
So, if you are having problems trimming/cutting video from your clips using the drag-back method, use the split option instead.
