Koi pond filter and pump problems?
I have a 2,000 gallon koi pond with an Auqadine filter. We shut down the pump and filter to clean the pond a week ago. We then tried to restart the pump. We have to fill up the system with water where to filter basket is before restarting the pump. I have left the hose on for 15 minutes at a time but the system wont fill up with water. I do not see any leaks.
is the pump making any noise at all? any gargling or anything? because if its silent then the problem will be with the pump.
if its old then it may have just died. sometimes old pumps will find it hard to restart after they're turned off for the first time in a long while too.
follow the line from pump to the outlet and make sure there are no blockages aswel. something may have been sucked up after you cleaned it out. if the pump isnt making any noise at all though then this probably isnt the problem.
if you have an aquatic store nearby take it in and see what they can do.
